On Tuesday I was lucky enough to photograph Music by Candlelight at St Mary’s Church, part of the Moseley Festival. I’ve lived in Moseley for a year and a half now and I’ve never been inside the Church until now, it’s a truly beautiful building. The event itself was great, a celebration of faith in several different forms from a traditional Anglican choir to the Qawwali/Nasheed vocal group Aa’shiq Al Rasul. Also playing were the flautist Robert Zhilmor (inspired by Chinese Falun Dafa) and the meditative, hypnotic piano of Rich Batsford.

So on Friday last week the exhibition went down and my course (HND in Photography) ended (I got a Distinction). Exhibiting was scary but brilliant, interacting with ordinary members of the public rather than academia in a very cliched way did shed new light on the work that everyone put up. Although my favourite moment was noted photographic artist Richard Billingham saying there was better work up in our show than his degree students at Gloucester Uni.
And here’s my project Development a study of the Swan Centre in Yardley produced with the kind assistance of Jenny Hanlon, town centre manager for Yardley. It was displayed as a solid block of 12 12in x 12in prints.
The exhibition site is still up here and will remain as an archive of everyones work.
